Ṣaḥīḥ li ghayrihī

If the narrations of ḥasan li dhātihī become many, then this ḥadīth will be considered ṣaḥīḥ li ghayrihī.

Example of ṣaḥīḥ li ghayrihī:

حديث محمد بن عمرو بن علقمة عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة أن رسول الله ﷺ قال : لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك عند كل صلاة

Muḥammad bin ‘Amr bin ‘Alqamah bin Abī Salamah narrates on the authority of Abū Hurayrah that the Prophet  said: Were it not that I put difficulty upon my ummah, I would have commanded them to do siwāk at every ṣalāh.[1]

The narrator Muḥammad bin ‘Amr is weak in terms of precision, and the aḥādīth narrated by him are classed as Ḥasan. However, as this ḥadīth has also been narrated via other chains, this particular ḥadīth rises to the stage of ṣaḥīḥ li ghayrihī.[2]
