Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq

Abdullah bin Uthman b. Amir b. Amr b. Ka’b b. Sa’d b. Taym[1], more commonly known as Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq. The first khalifah after the Prophet (saw), born after the year of the elephant[2]. He was a friend of the Prophet (saw) before prophethood, the first man to accept Islam[3], and beloved to the Prophet (saw)[4]. He accompanied the Prophet (saw) on the hijrah and is referred to in the Quran[5]. He accompanied the Prophet (saw)  in all the battles alongside the prophet [6], as well as the final pilgrimage[7]. He was the father of Ayesha, the wife of the Prophet (saw).  He was of noble lineage, a trader, known for his good character. Many accepted Islam at his hands[8], and he spent his money in the path of Allah[9] freeing many slaves[10]. He died in 13 AH, having been khalifa for 2 years and 3 months.
