١٤- قاعدة سَيِّدٍ و مَرْمِيٍّ

If:
- Waw and yaa combine in one word
- They are not changed from any other letter
- The verb is not on the scale of دَحْرَجَ
- The first letter is a sakin
Then
- Change waw to yaa and merge by giving tashdeed
- If there is a damma before it, change to a kasrah
Example:
| سَيْوِدٌ | ——> | سَيِّدٌ |
| مَرْمُوْيٌ | ——> | مَرْمِيٌّ |
| مُضُوْيٌ | ——> | مُضِيٌّ |
It is permissible to give a fatha to the faa kalima following rule 10, for example:
| مُضُوْيٌ | ——> | مِضِيٌّ |
