IlmHive ("we", "us") is a personal educational archive of classical Islamic study notes published at ilmhive.com. You can reach us at ilmhive1@gmail.com.
We try to collect as little personal data as possible. The only personal data we deliberately handle is what you give us through the site:
We do not run third-party advertising, sell or share personal data, or attempt to identify individual readers. We do use Google Analytics to understand how the library is read in aggregate — see Cookies and analytics below — and analytics cookies are only set if you accept the consent banner.
Under UK GDPR, our lawful basis for processing the data above is either (a) your consent, given when you submit a form, or (b) our legitimate interests in operating the site securely and replying to messages.
Form submissions are retained for as long as is reasonable to answer or follow up on them — typically up to twelve months. Server logs are kept for a much shorter window by our hosting provider. We delete what we no longer need.
We use a small number of trusted infrastructure providers — for hosting, deployment, and transactional email. They process data only on our instructions. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share personal data with anyone else.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us to:
Send any such request to ilmhive1@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
IlmHive uses three analytics services to understand which notes are read and how the site performs:
You can change your mind at any time: . Your preference is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) under the key ilmhive-consent.
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top and, where it is reasonable to do so, mention the change on the site.
