مختصر القدوري
An entry-level Ḥanafī fiqh primer by Imām al-Qudūrī (d. 428 AH), foundational across the South Asian and Anatolian curricula.
The Mukhtaṣar is the foundational Ḥanafī fiqh text. It opens, as the genre demands, with ritual purity (ṭahārah) — what makes a person ready to pray — and unfolds methodically through prayer, zakat, fasting, hajj, transactions, marriage, divorce, criminal law, and the rest of the canonical chapters.
Imām al-Qudūrī wrote concisely, and the text rewards close reading. Each chapter assumes the previous; each ruling assumes the vocabulary it has just established. These notes follow the chapter structure and aim to clarify, not replace, the original.
